Red rock everywhere, wide open skies open to the Universe!
Rocks ripped open, carved slowly into canyons by rushing water carrying trees and boulders, gusting winds, and tiny grains of sand. Layer after layer of rock leaving telltale signs of what happened here.
Ancient trees standing, bearing the weight of time-worn wind, rain, and fire.
Human histories and stories carved onto rock walls, faded by time, blistering sun, intense rain, heat.
The Narrows River is sometimes quiet and gentle; wildly unpredictable at other times. Walk the river, feel its magnetic pull on feet, head and heart.
Keep going, can't stop!
Return to camp feeling changed somehow - not sure how - but changed for sure. Leaving this place tears at me.
